Polestar 2 review (2023)

In their own words

While I absolutely love driving in my Polestar 2 for many reasons, the car is a buggy mess and has spent more time in the garage than any previous new car I have driven.

Most of the faults are not mechanical, but software related, although I did have a fan issue within the first 6 weeks of ownership which took the garage 3 tried to repair.

A few weeks ago the car completed an OTA update and bricked itself (literally, it drained the 12V system to nothing and the car wouldn't move, then the locking system failed and we had to enter it manually and have it taken to the dealer on a lorry). Since being taken to the garage and the update completed, many more software bugs have appeared. Most are just annoying such as Spotify changing language for no reason, others much more serious, such as the driver's display failing and requiring a reset while I drive. The garage says it's up to date and nothing can be done until the next update!

If I were you, I'd look at competitor's EV options. The Polestar 2 looks lovely, drives well and is really comfortable, but the software bugs are a deal breaker.
